Mustang Optics Named Semifinalist in Geophone Prize Competition
Mustang Optics, working with colleagues at SMU, was named a semifinalist in the @AMCprizes #GeophonePrize! The prize consists of $75,000 cash + $75,000 in vouchers to have parts fabricated at Sandia National Labs.
The Geophone Prize is designed to address the challenges of operating seismic sensors in geothermal environments. Fast-tracking innovative solutions for economically viable and durable downhole sensors is crucial to the increased deployment of geothermal energy and the clean energy revolution.
The Geophone Prize is directed and administered by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy Geothermal Technologies Office. Semifinalists will advance their concepts that address the challenges of operating seismic sensors in geothermal environments.
